Engineering and Repair: How to Plan for Success and Fix Disasters -
Cracks, chips, collapse. Warping, sagging, and the heartbreak of errant broomsticks. So much can go wrong in sculpture. And while not all disasters can be avoided or repaired, Susan will demonstrate a range of techniques and products that will help you achieve (or wrest from the jaws of despair) success. From building props and supports for sculpture in progress, to anticipating warping, weight distribution, and glaze glitches in Cone 5/6 firing, Susan will help you to engineer large pieces and complex little ones. Paint, epoxies, resins, and power tools will make an appearance. Bring questions, problems, anxieties, and broken stuff--or just witness, spellbound, the possibilities of redemption.
