Our Teachers

When it comes to choosing our teachers we look for three things - Skill, experience and personality. We look for teachers who are trained to degree level in ceramics and only make exceptions where their skill and experience warrant it. We love beginners as students but not as teachers! As well as extensive experience in their own artistic practice it’s equally important that our teachers are able to share their skills.

We value teachers who know how to explain techniques clearly whether it’s to an advanced student looking to progress or someone who’s touching clay for the first time.

Our teachers build an environment where students can progress, experiment, fail and feel safe doing so. We are not a university but a place people come to for a variety of reasons - a creative outlet, to learn something new, to make friends or as a form of therapy. It’s important to us that our teachers are as warm and friendly as our studio.
